KAI ZHAN | Australian Centre for Field Robotics, The University of Sydney

I'm a PhD student in ACFR, The University of Sydney. My research topic is related to healthcare and elderly assistance, I chose it because I felt that robotics would have great potentials to make contributions to the elderly and patients who suffering from neuropathic diseases, helping them survive independently. Fortunately, I received numerous assistances and encouragements from my supervisor Dr. Fabio Ramos, also Ms Julia Schmidt from Brain Injury Unit of Royal Rehabilitation Centre Sydney and A/Prof. Steven Faux from Rehabilitation Unit at St Vincent's hospital, to initiate this topic in robotics area. Although it's presented to be a challenging area, I enjoy it, and feel glad to be the first PhD student working on healthcare in ACFR. This is a meaningful research topic and would make great contributions to the patients in the future.
