This section is the western part of the line, from Jubilee Park,
to Catherine St, taken during March 2000.
The pictures were taken with either a Kodak DC200 (dcp* files) or
a Nikon Coolpix 950 (dscn* files). Both cameras were operated in high
resolution, high quality mode, and the images rescaled and
compressed for the web.
During March, the Bridge Road, and Rozelle Bay station earth works
commenced as the earth works finished at the other stations. By early March
Wentworth Park station was pretty well complete (Excluding finishing fitout).
Jubilee Park station was missing its outbound platform facing by the end of
March, but the retaining walls on the up hill side were complete, and it
had an inbound platform. Catherine St
platform was esentially complete, and work was well underway on contructing
a lift tower up to Catherine St. New concrete sleepered track was being 'hand'
layed through Catherine St platform on the 28th of March.
Other reports tell that one of the tracks through the Glebe Point
tunnel had been relayed as well.
By the end of March, overhead support poles had been placed at seemingly
random locations along the line. Signal and communications ducting was
also being installed.
The mainline connection at the head of Rozelle yard is still
connected, track work at the Catherine St platform had blocked the line
but the heavy rail connection still exists.
