Extensions of the Sydney Light Rail system - August 2000

Offical Opening, midday, Jubilee Park, 13th of August 2000

The first 2 weeks of August saw further Ghost running and cleaning up of the work sites. People were seen inspecting the stations and marking defects to be repaired. The lift at Lilyfield station was not finished by the 13th, but most of the other work seemed to be cleaning up the works depot site at Jubilee Park. On the day I covered the Lilyfield end of the track, no trams were running, it appeared a detailed site inspection was being done instead.
The system opened for public operation on Sunday the 13th.
