The gremlins struck while the tram was on the Down and crossing Pitt Street. Without hydraulic fluid in the brake sytem the disk brakes locked on. The driver while using a manual pump carried on board each vehicle was only able to pump up enough pressure to release the brakes after a considerable delay. Police were in attendance to direct traffic at the intersection. The tram made it to Capitol Square stop, there maintance staff answering the call out prepared the tram for a push to the depot. LRV/tram 2105 did the honours pushing 2101 to the depot arriving near 22:00.
Little ol me was at Lilyfield for over ½hour until limited Lilyfield/Convention working was introduced. Using the cross-overs at the depot entrance to do an Up line to Down line transfer. Try explaining in English to Cantonese speakers that the tram after leaving Star City is only going two further stops and NO it is not going to Central Station. Passengers were able to complete journeys to the city on the monothingy using their tram tickets. But what's that all in Cantonese? :-)
Anyway scored an hours overtime and the usual routine was varied.

LRV/tram 2101 ex Renault was made over yesterday. All the old plastic was removed to reveal the original "two blue" colour scheme. Three vertical panels have been applied each side for HSBC bank home loans, these ads are similar to those on STA buses, although the buses have only one per side.
